  • What information should I include when placing an order?

If you know exactly what you’re looking for, just let us know the quantity you would like of each item, as well as information regarding dimensions, color, etc. Your details will help us distinguish your item from similar products.

If you know the parameters of your job but aren't sure what quantities of material you'll need, please reach out to us. We'll help you determine your order.

  • What information should I include when ordering gates?

First, we'll need to know the product line and material you'd like your gate built out of. If you are matching the gate to a specific height, color, or style of fence, let us know and we'll ensure the gate fits your layout.

Next, we'll need to know the type of gate you’re after. Our default is to assume you want a single swing gate so tell us if you need a double gate with or without a middle post. Cantilever gates are available for our Royal Guard and chain-link lines.

Then we'll need to know the height of your gate. In most cases, we build the gate body (the height from the bottom rail to the top rail) to match the style of the fence you're installing. However, you will need to let us know if you have different specifications for the gate body and/or upright height.

We'll also need to know your gate width. Be sure to tell us if the measurement you provide is the exact width of the gate leaf, or the size of the opening (I to I) between your gate posts. If you provide us the opening size, we'll generally calculate a 2-inch total buffer between the opening size and the actual leaf width for single gates, and a 3-inch total buffer for the two leaves of a double gate.

Let us know if your gate has a slope (also known as a rack, rake, or drop). This can be provided in either inches or degrees. If the gate is not symmetrical (e.g. has a welded wheel), let us know which side should be the high side of the gate.

We'll also need to know any additional specifications or details. If you have anything specific you would like included, such as a steel frame, welded wheel, mid-vertical or diagonal brace, let us know and we'll make sure to include it.
